We Love Rescues!

Posted on 02.01.2024

In the month of February, Treats Unleashed is sharing the love between 20 groups throughout our St. Louis, Columbia and Kansas City communities with our Round Up for Rescue program! You can make a big difference for all of these groups with the help of our Round Up for Rescue program. Learn a little bit about each group:

Love A Golden - As their name suggests, this St. Louis based rescue focuses on Golden Retrievers who have been surrendered, stray, in a shelter, or otherwise out of options and place them in their forever home. They are an all volunteer, foster based group who share a deep passion for Goldens, especially senior and special needs pups.

The Feral Companion - This St. Louis foster based group looks to help feral, shy, and special needs dogs who may initially be overlooked. If these pups take a long time to rehabilitate, they may not get the time and attention needed at a busy shelter. The Feral Companion seeks these pets out, and their foster homes can provide them that time and attention to prepare them for a loving forever home.

Stray Paws Rescue - A foster based rescue that works to protect and improve the lives of rescued animals and place them in loving permanent homes in the St. Louis Metro Area. This year alone, already 198 dogs and 31 cats have been taken in by this rescue, and there have been 280 successful adoptions.

Mastino Rescue, Inc - A group of rescuers and breed enthusiasts working together to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome the growing number of Neapolitan Mastiffs in need within the USA, and to educate the public about the realities of owning this magnificent and unique breed. They also are the officially endorsed rescue of the United States Neapolitan Mastiff Club.

Needy Paws Rescue - A volunteer, 100% foster-based organization saving dogs from high-kill shelters, strays, abandoned and surrendered in St. Louis and surrounding rural Missouri areas, regardless of breed or size.

Advocates 4 Animals (A4A) Pet Pantry and Rescue - A 100% volunteer organization focused on keeping animals with their families during financially difficult times by providing pet food and spay-neuter assistance. In addition to the pet food pantry program, their adoption program cares for pregnant/nursing canine moms and their puppies until they are adopted. All moms and babies in the adoption program are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and micro-chipped.

Duo Dogs, Inc. - When life leads you down an unexpected path, Duo Dogs offers a leash and lifeline to those in need. Their Assistance, Facility, and Touch Therapy Dogs along with their Obedience and Paws for Reading programs enrich lives. Duo Dogs is committed to improving lives of their clients through its integrated programs and processes.

The Cheshire Grin Cat Cafe & Rescue - The Cheshire Grin Cat Cafe is like a regular cafe, except that it is full of free-roaming, adoptable cats! They are their own rescue and non-profit! Being a rescue allows them to pull from the euthanasia list in Animal Control, giving loveable cats a second chance. All donations go directly back to the cats to pay for litter, food, and all the medical bills.

Gateway Pet Guardians - A pet resource center dedicated to investing in people and local communities to end the cycle of animal homelessness. They remove barriers to foster and adoption, and providing an infusion of resources such as affordable, quality veterinary care and pet supplies.

STL English Bulldog Rescue - An all-volunteer group of bulldog lovers whose mission is to re-home bulldogs who are surrendered or find themselves without homes. Volunteers provide foster care, vet care and rehabilitation for these dogs, ultimately finding them forever homes.

Dogs For Our Brave - Provides professionally trained service dogs at no cost to veterans who have suffered debilitating injury or illness while in service to our country. Their goal is to use rescue dogs at every opportunity, thus saving two lives at once. In order to fully realize their mission without adding financial burden, they also provide a continuum of free support that covers all food, veterinary care, and pharmaceuticals for the life of the dog.

Second Chance Ranch -  Second Chance Ranch dedicated to creating a loving home for senior dogs and cats who are homeless or sick and  strive to make the rest of their life the best of their life. We have spayed or neutered over 8,000 dogs and cats in our own free and low-cost clinics since 2002 and assisted another 5,800 pets with low-cost services since 2006.

Dog Saver Rescue - Dog Saver is a no-kill and a 501c3 non-profit all dog breed rescue and adoption organization founded in Washington, Missouri.
