Did you know that Treats Unleashed also features some of the best products for cats, too? While their toys, treats, and foods do not take up as much as their canine counterparts, we have a wide selection of the very best and unique options for our feline friends. We even have great options in our freezer that are cat friendly!
All March long, Treats Unleashed will be raising awareness of our cat friends. This month we are highlighting 6 cat centric groups that are local to our St. Louis, Columbia, and Kansas City communities for our Spotlight Program.
“Giving cats the lives they deserve. At Tenth Life, we believe that every cat, regardless of emotional or physical limitations, deserves the chance at a fulfilling and happy life. We provide veterinary care, foster homes, and adoptive placement to stray cats and kittens, prioritizing those with special needs. We work to end unnecessary euthanasia and cat homelessness through educational outreach, community programs, and collaborative partnerships.”
“Stray Haven is dedicated to promoting the health, well-being, and welfare of all cats – domestic, stray, abandoned, and feral. We find loving homes for these animals once they’ve received veterinary care and are deemed healthy and fit for adoption.”
“Open Door Animal Sanctuary, founded in 1975, is the largest no-kill shelter in the greater St. Louis area and State of Missouri. Open Door’s Mission is to provide homeless cats and dogs with the highest quality of life and a second chance to find a forever family.”
Central Missouri Humane Society – 616 Big Bear Blvd. Columbia, MO 65202 – Schedule a visit!
“In continuous operation since 1943, the Central Missouri Humane Society promotes the well-being of companion animals – pets that enrich the lives of the people who love them. The Central Missouri Humane Society envisions a time when no mid-Missouri pet is homeless, abused or neglected.” Helping dogs, cats, and small animals find forever homes!
“Boone County Animal Care is a non-profit animal welfare organization located in Columbia, Missouri. We are entirely foster-based organization whose passion is improving the lives of animals in our community. We provide care to kittens and cats of all ages and physical condition until they are successfully adopted into a family home. A significant focus of our group is trap, spay/neuter and release (TNR) as an effort to reduce the overpopulation of cats. This also significantly improves the overall health of the cats in the community, reduces the number of animal intakes to local shelters and, over time, will make an impact on the number of feral and uncared for pets.”
Kitty City Kansas – 12800 Santa Fe Trail Dr., Lenexa, KS 66215 – Visit their Adoption Center!
“Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a no-kill non-profit group of rescuers and individuals who have an affinity for cats. We intake mostly from shelters that have euthanasia policies due to overcrowding or other non-medical conditions. We are, in some cases, the last resort for kittens and cats. Through our wonderful volunteer group, we aim to change the outcome of each and every cat that arrives under our care.”
To support these groups, you can purchase Spotlight Treats for 95 cents each or make a cash donation at our register. All proceeds will be split among these groups and directly impact the lives of cats in our community. We might be Frequent Barkers, but that doesn’t stop us from extending a helping paw to our feline friends.
