Dental Health Tips for Pets

Posted on 02.17.2022

After February 14th, we shift our focus from sweets to teeth! February is also Dental Health Month and we like to extend that to our pets' oral care as well. It's easy for us to remember to brush our teeth, floss and use mouthwash, but it's just as easy for us to forget our pets need this help too. After all, they can't remind us - unless they have bad breath! Here are some of our favorite suggestions to help stay on top of your dog or cat's dental health and hopefully avoid the bad breath reminder.

Tropiclean Fresh Breath Water Additive - One of the easiest and simplest ways to instantly boost your pet's dental health, Tropiclean Fresh Breath Water Additive is a favorite for dogs and cats alike. All you need to do is add a capful (approximately 1 tablespoon) of the water additive to their bowl of water. As they drink, they will be freshening their breath and improving their oral health!

Tropiclean Toothbrush & Oral Care Gel - For the more traditional and direct approach, we also have toothbrushes and oral care gel for your pets. What makes Tropiclean toothbrushes more special is the triple heads on their brushes. Now you can get the top and both sides of the teeth simultaneously for a brushing session in a third of the time! Oral care gel comes in a variety of flavors to help your pet look forward to tooth time. Brushing is not required to use the oral care gel, but can help get results faster.

Primal Frozen Raw Bones - An unconventional method, raw bones are actually a great way to improve dental health due to the raw enzymes. These help clean and remove plaque and tartar, leaving your pet's teeth pearly white! You may want to keep the Fresh Breath water additive close by, though. Primal has great options for dogs and cats in the freezers at your neighborhood Treats Unleashed. Talk to a team member today, and we can help make a personalized recommendation for your pet.

We’re not veterinarians. Treats Unleashed staff are well educated, and our writing is well-researched, but neither the advice of a Treats Unleashed staff member nor reading Treats Unleashed's written materials can substitute for visiting a veterinarian. We offer carefully chosen, natural solutions, but we believe that veterinary conditions should be diagnosed and treated by professionals.
