September’s Spotlight Groups

Every month, Treats Unleashed highlights a different local rescue or pet support group that directly impacts our St. Louis, Columbia, and Kansas City communities. This month, we are focusing on two groups that also happen to be the benefactors of our Columbia Pet Expo: Central Missouri Humane Society and The Spay Neuter Project/No Kill Columbia!

Central Missouri Humane Society

Formed in 1943, CMHS provides shelter and care for the abandoned animals of the greater Columbia, Missouri area. They care for thousands of animals annually and provide veterinary assistance to low-income families in the region. CMHS is also Boone County’s only open door shelter, providing care for all animals, regardless of health or temperment. CMHS is solely dependent on public donations and assistance, and Treats Unleashed is proud to partner with them to help with their mission of treating all animals with the most humane care. Consider a shelter pet for a forever home or for foster care from CMHS. Meet some adoptable pets at the Columbia Pet Expo on September 11!

The Spay Neuter Project/No Kill Columbia

The Spay Neuter Project believes that with education and assistance, we can overcome the overpopulation of shelters and help prevent unnecessary death and disease by offering high quality, affordable spay/neuter services for all companion animals in Mid Missouri. There are no income restrictions or qualifications to receive these services. With proper medical care, we can reduce these numbers and find good homes for all shelter pets!

Meet the wonderful people behind both of these organizations at our Columbia Pet Expo on Saturday, September 11! There is no cost to attend the event, but all proceeds from the events that day will directly benefit these two groups. Additionally, every purchase of Spotlight Treats from all stores in September, as well as all cash box donations at our registers this month, will be split between these two organizations. Thank you for your support, Frequent Barkers!
